René Meza

René’s professional practice has focused on tax consulting, providing advice on the corporate area to public and private companies regarding M&A transactions and corporate restructurings, and on the private client area for shareholders. He has also specialised in international taxation. René has advised individuals and family offices in the tax and equity areas, and has provided consulting services to Mexican financial institutions, banks, brokerage firms, sofomes, and sofipos.

He joined Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa in 2004 and has over 20 years of experience advising Mexican and multinational clients on wealth management and corporate advisory matters related to their businesses. In recent years, René has actively participated in pro bono initiatives supporting various foundations and non-profit organisations, guiding tax and operational issues.

For the past 12 years, he has been a professor of tax subjects at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, teaching at the undergraduate level as well as on diploma programmes and postgraduate studies. Previously, René taught at the Universidad Iberoamericana for five years.
