Biography

Paul Dennis leads Deloitte’s UK Tax Controversy team with a career spanning over 25 years resolving tax disputes. His career began at HMRC and at Deloitte he helps clients to manage all aspects of their engagement with HMRC including BRR+, disclosures, ADR, HRCP and litigation.

Paul uses his experience to help clients navigate through significant disputes with HMRC and reach negotiated settlements that meet HMRC’s Litigation and Settlements Strategy requirements. He has helped numerous clients reach settlement from longstanding disputes and regularly provides an alternative view on the appropriate dispute resolution strategy.

Paul also helps multinational clients to develop their own response to tax controversy, including Deloitte Labs to help develop the tax controversy function, establishing governance frameworks over the management of audits around the world, and utilising technology to both track global audits and utilise GenAI to more effectively manage disputes.
