John advises clients on a range of cross-border transfer pricing matters, including planning as well as representation in Advance Pricing Agreement and Competent Authority proceedings.
Before joining Deloitte in 2018, John had 10 years of experience representing clients in the private sector. Previously, John held several positions at the IRS Office of Associate Chief Counsel, Branch 6, where he served as an attorney-advisor, and later as senior technical reviewer and branch chief. In the latter positions, he served as the reviewer on two important regulation projects in the transfer pricing area, one dealing with controlled services/ownership of intangible property and the other dealing with cost-sharing arrangements. From 2003 to 2008, he was a member of the US delegation to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. Since returning to private practice, John has been active in several professional organizations and he is the immediate past chair of the Transfer Pricing Committee of the American Bar Association Section on Taxation.
John has a Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University, a Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law, and a Master of Laws in taxation from the Georgetown University Law Center.
