She focuses her practice on complex corporate tax matters, including startup operations, inbound and outbound corporate reorganizations, acquisitions, financings, exit strategies, legislative affairs, tax incentives and exemptions, and competent authority proceedings between the Puerto Rico Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service.
A substantial part of her practice is devoted to tax minimization strategies through Puerto Rico's various tax incentive programs under Act 60-2019 including export services, resident individual investors, industrial/manufacturing, and agriculture tax exemptions, as well as municipal incentives.
Many of her clients are global manufacturing companies in the pharmaceutical, medical devices and electronics sectors, as well as major retail companies, e-commerce companies, companies engaged in blockchain and cryptocurrency transactions, export service companies, and high net worth individuals.
She has spearheaded various amendments to Puerto Rico’s Internal Revenue Code, the industrial tax incentives acts of 1998 and 2008, as well as the Puerto Rico Incentives Code of 2019.
