Francisco Mendes da Silva joined the firm in 2006 and became a partner in 2021. He is a member of the tax team. Francisco works on tax matters in general, with particular emphasis on highly complex litigation at administrative, judicial, arbitration, constitutional and European levels. In the exercise of this activity, he advises some of the largest companies in the most prominent sectors of the Portuguese economy, such as energy, retail, telecommunications, gaming, construction and public works. In addition to traditional tax matters, such as corporate income tax, VAT or stamp duty, Francisco has established himself as a leading expert on new trends in tax policy, namely in sectoral or regulatory taxation, a field in which he usually leads the firm's teams of lawyers. Francisco is often invited to participate as a speaker in public events related to the matters he works with, both in academia and in civil society institutions. He is an authoritative voice in these matters in the most relevant general and specialized press.
