Deloitte DR’s transfer Pricing practice is a growing practice comprised of seven members, one partner, one manager and 5 consultants. The team provides all Transfer Pricing services including preparation of master and local files, tax planning, and compliance. Key industries for the firm are mining, sugar, tourism, trade, and insurance.  

During the research period, the Deloitte’s DR team assisted a client with Transfer Pricing compliance related to the export of tobacco. The case was complex due to many factors including the addition of a tax-exempt status, as well as hidden dividend rates which affect export sales prices. 

The OMG tax group excels in the areas of both VAT and income tax.  The team represents both domestic and international clients across a variety of sectors. OMG undertakes tax-planning projects both on a stand-alone basis, and as an integral part of its engagement in other matters through a variety of cross-service structures. Ana Isabel Taveras Lois continues to act as the director if the tax practice. She has extensive experience in tax, analysis, design and the implementation of efficient tax solutions.

In 2022, The OMG team continues to provide tax support in the region. The firm has also been active in recruitment bringing on three new members.The firm welcomes new director Jackeline Sahily Dietsch. The firm also welcomes Gireh Encarnacion and Nathalie Garcia who join as consultants.

During the research cycle, the Pellerano & Herrera team provided M&A services for Thryve, a publicly traded company which owns the yellow pages, as they seek to acquire a portion of tech and marketing company Vivial. As Vivial split, Pellerano Nadal assisted with the negotiations of the transfer and is currently working out issues with capital gains tax attached to the transaction.

TPC Group is an International Transfer Pricing and Consulting Firm, made up of a network of strategic partners in Latin America, the USA and Spain. The group specializes in transfer pricing consulting; however, they also provide tax planning services to multinational groups. 

During the research period, TPC group remained active in transfer pricing matter throughout the region. Due to the sensitive nature of their work, it remains confidential.

The team at Ulises Cabrera has been in operation since 1966, with a  team of 55 members. They specialize in Corporate tax, M&A, project development, foreign investments, family estate planning, and renewable energy to name a few. The firm is a part of international associations which connect them globally to other chambers of commerce.  

In 2022, the firm continues to longstanding client EnviroGold in a case against the Dominican Tax Authority arguing the legality of the RNF and PUN taxes while EnviroGold was under a special Concession Agreement with the state. The firm also assisted Essity group complete a legal analysis on intercompany debt and its tax implications after its takeover of Productos Familia.
