Bernardo started his career at Deloitte Portugal, and has since worked for KPMG in Hungary, EY in London, and Baker McKenzie’s London VAT team. He is currently the Group Head of Indirect Tax for Farfetch (NYSE:FTCH), where he oversees Farfetch’s exponential growth and expansion to multiple jurisdictions, as well as supervising the launch of new business initiatives from a tax, systems, and commercial perspectives.

With almost 10 years of experience in matters of VAT, sales tax, and customs, Bernardo is currently focused on business model design and global supply-chain optimization for the platform economy. He keeps himself busy implementing his vision of the future indirect tax in this new frontier.

Since 1 May 2017 Matthias Feldt is head of VAT of Vonovia SE, Bochum, Germany's leading real estate company. From 2012-2017 Matthias was head of the VAT team DACH-region for General Electric Company, until 2012 head of VAT team of thyssenkrupp AG. Matthias is dealing with EU-VAT since the beginning of the common market in 1993. He is a regular speaker at national and international conferences and co-author of the book VAT Law in European Countries and Important Third Countries (Mehrwertsteuerrecht europäischer Staaten und wichtiger Drittstaaten).

Conceicao heads the indirect tax team at Vieira de Almeida & Associados (VdA), advising clients in all VAT, customs and excise duties’ matters and representing them before the tax authorities and tax courts. Conceicao also advises clients dealing with indirect tax issues in foreign jurisdictions including Angola, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, East Timor, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe.

Conceicao is a certified tax arbitrator and the Portuguese correspondent for the online publication “VAT in Europe” (IBFD). She is the author of several publications, including “VAT on real estate transactions”, “VAT and Digital Economy”, “Digital Economy Taxation: the quest for a perfect solution”, “VAT on early termination payments”, “Bitcoins & VAT”, “VAT on the transfer as a going concern” and the Portuguese chapter of “European VAT Handbook”.

Kim Hau

Kim is Senior Proposition Manager for ONESOURCE Indirect Tax, Thomson Reuters. She has over 12 years' experience in indirect tax, and managed indirect tax compliance for several large, multinational banks and insurance companies. Kim is responsible for the tactical strategic direction of the ONESOURCE Indirect Tax solutions and identifying growth areas in the EMEA market by working and speaking to customers. Most recently Kim has put this extensive experience to use by leading a project to explore the use of machine learning algorithms for indirect tax processes at Thomson Reuters. Kim holds a degree in Law from the University of Southampton and trained at Deloitte LLP.


Stephanie Kenfenheuer

Stephanie Kenfenheuer is certified tax consultant and responsible for the consulting field VAT Technology Processes Controls within WTS. Therefore she is specified in the conception and implementation of digital end-to-end processes and toolbased solutions e.g. for VAT reporting. In addition she works on the development of tax digitalization strategies for clients and their transformation of the tax function in the context of digitalization.


Kay Masorski

Kay Masorsky is heading WTS' global customs practice in Germany. Prior to assuming his current assignment he held various leading positions in the customs and trade area, both at company and consultancy level. With more than 25 years of professional experience, he has dealt with customs and trade issues of all kinds. In addition to his legal work on matters such as classification, valuation and origin of goods, a major part of his work includes assisting clients in optimizing and implementing customs processes, and in planning and reorganizing business structures and supply chains. At WTS, he advises German and international clients of all size across a wide range of industries, including automotive, chemicals and pharmaceuticals as well as consumer goods and retailing. Kay regularly lectures on customs and trade issues in seminars and client workshops.

Aicha Nianzou

Aicha Nianzou is currently working as the global indirect tax director for WABCO. He occasionally gives lectures on tax technology in business schools. He held multiple roles in IT, Quality and Tax technology. Aicha is also a microelectronic engineer; Black Belt certified in Six Sigma and hold a Master in Taxation from the Solvay business School of Brussels. His main area of expertise are indirect taxes (Compliance, Risk management, and supply chain restructuration), tax technology (i.e. Tax determination tools, global VAT compliance tool, GAAP to STAAT rec)
