Obama on tax code: “Let’s change it”

President Obama yesterday used his State of the Union address to stress the need for tax reform, claiming “My message is simple...Send me those tax reforms, and I’ll sign them right away”.

The President bemoaned the relocation of US companies abroad, both in terms of headquarter presence and in shifting jobs and profits overseas. He said the discrepancies in treatment between those who are located overseas and those who are incorporated at home in the US are evidence enough that tax reform is overdue.
