IRS names new deputy chief counsel

As of August 28, Erik Corwin, most recently a partner at Ropes & Gray in Washington DC, will be serving as the IRS's Deputy Chief Counsel (Technical).

Corwin comes to the role with experience in federal tax issues related to US and cross-border transactions, bankruptcy, restructuring and regulated investment companies.

Before his stint at Ropes & Gray, he was a partner at the Washington office of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Door.
