The shortlists for International Tax Review's European Tax Awards have been announced.

The shortlists for International Tax Review's European Tax Awards have been announced. The winners will be revealed during a dinner at the Dorchester Hotel in London on May 18.


The 10 nominees for European tax firm of the year include three of the big-four accounting firms and international law firms from the UK and the US.


Two in-house tax teams will win awards this year for the first time, as there are prizes for the best corporate groups in direct and indirect tax.  Nominees in direct tax include BA/Iberia, Schlumberger, TNK-BP and African Barrick Gold. The shortlisted companies for the indirect tax award comprise Associated British Foods, Kronospan Mielec, PMV and  Storebrand.


The different practice areas of tax will also be highlighted this year, with awards for M&A, capital markets and private equity, and industry awards for tax teams in financial services, energy and media & entertainment.
